Saudi Arabian woman makes Olympic history

London, Summer Olympics 2012 – Saudi Arabia allows women to participate in the Olympic Games. That year, two Saudi Arabian women were sent to represent their country. one of them: Sarah Attar – ran the 800 meter race and came last. This year, Attar will represent her country again in the marathon.

2016 – Rio. Kariman Abuljadayel – another female racer from Saudi Arabia, has competed in the 100 meter race. History was made again, since no other woman from Saudi Arabia competed in this race before. though getting the respectable 7th place, and not moving on to the next level – fans were definitely moved by Abuljadayel, and her historic run.
